Bus Drivers - Casual

We are currently seeking a competent driver who is people focussed, reliable and suitably qualified to join our outstanding team of Bus Drivers to commence in January 2025.

About the role:

You are required to safely and responsibly transport NCC students , on NCC owned and operated buses primarily during scheduled morning and/or afternoon bus runs. On occasion, fulfil additional duties for College excursions and off campus activities. A vital part of the role is to also ensure professional and timely communication with parents, and to provide a safe, supportive caring environment for students.

About You:

· Have a personal alignment with, and commitment to the Mission and Vision of Nambour Christian College.

· Attention to detail and aware of safe bus operation rules, and emergency response procedures.

· Good problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Knowledge of emergency procedures to ensure student safety in crisis situation.

· A current MR Class Drivers Licence or willing to gain qualification

· A current “Queensland Drivers Authority”

· A current “Queensland Working with Children Blue Card”

Teacher Assistant – Berakah Farm

Teacher Assistant – Berakah Farm

Are you passionate about farming, animal husbandry, gardening and enjoy helping and supporting students in their practical learning activities, then we would like to hear from you.

About the role:

Berakah Farm, located on our campus, is an integral part of Nambour Christian College. This well-resourced Agricultural Science facility provides students with hands-on experience in agriculture, bridging the gap between students and food production. Activities undertaken at Berakah Farm include growing vegetables, maintaining a flock of egg laying chickens, tractor driving, chainsaw use, spray preparation, plant propagation, livestock handling, horse husbandry and beekeeping.

This position will be supporting our Berakah Farn staff by assisting classroom Teachers before, during and after lessons, and at times working with small groups on practical learning activities.

Please review the Position Description for more details on responsibilities. The role is Term Time only, and 10 hours per week. Days of week will be determined based on class timetables.

About you: 

Have an active Christian faith and personal alignment and commitment to the Mission and Vision of Nambour Christian College. Hold a current working with children check (Qld Blue Card).

While there is no formal qualification required for this role, experience the above areas offered by our farm, and an ability to connect with and interact positively with Middle and Senior Scholl age students is essential.

A knowledge of and ability to prepare equipment and resources needed for lessons as directed by the Teacher, and ensuring all equipment and resources are put away and the work area is left clean, neat, and tidy is essential. As is the ability to provide feedback and observations on student participation and learning with Teaching Staff.

The position is available for an immediate start.

  3. Whole school engagement – Work under the direction of our current Learning Enrichment Teacher, primarily supporting secondary students while maintaining an understanding of the needs of all students across the College.
  4. Collaborative team environment – Join a supportive Learning Enrichment Department, consisting of a lead Teacher and two experienced Teacher Assistants, fostering a culture of teamwork and student-focused learning.

NCC Early Swimmers - Learn to Swim Instructors

NCC Early Swimmers is a dynamic, fun and option filled program running from Nambour Christian College’s Learn to swim facility. We offer learn to swim lessons for all ages for both the community and our private school-based programs. NCC Early Swimmers is looking for a staff member who is motivated, flexible, energetic and goal orientated to join our growing team.

Based in our purpose-built facility in Woombye, our pool is well-equipped and heated year-round. We plan to grow and develop a progressive learn-to-swim program for all ages in a fun, structured environment with a focus on water safety.

This role will operate independently with the requirement to develop lesson plans, deliver lessons and set-up and pack-down all equipment to ensure the pool remains safe before, during and after classes.

Skills and Experience
To be suitable for this position, you must have a passion for swim teaching, be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be patient, have a natural focus on details and be reliable. You will be able to instil confidence in participants and be prepared to do more than just instruct and with your passion for swim teaching, you will be excited to assist in growing the service.

The successful applicant will be able to work flexible hours, commit to set class times and have the following qualifications:

  • Relevant Swim Australia Teacher of Babies and Toddlers qualification and/or relevant Swim  Australia Teacher qualification

NCC Early Swimmers is looking for a staff member who is motivated, flexible, energetic and goal orientated to join our growing team.
