Nambour Christian College is a co-educational, inter-denominational Christian school located in the heartland of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. It is a Prep to Year 12 school with approximately 1220 students. The College also contains an Early Learning Centre facility for children aged 15 months and above.

Teacher Assistant – Secondary School Learning Enrichment Department

We are seeking applications for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Teacher Assistant to join our innovative Middle and Senior School Learning Enrichment Department, commencing as soon as possible.

This is a Fixed Term Contract until end of Term 4, 2023. Hours of work: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm, Term Time only.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have completed their Certificate IV in Education Support with specific qualifications pertaining to working with Students with Disabilities
  • Be able to work cooperatively within a large team
  • Support students over all subject areas in Years 7 to 12
  • Support Teachers with diagnosed students while in the classroom environment
  • Support students with special needs on excursions, sports carnivals and at breaks
  • Be able to work to a daily timetable mainly within the mainstream classroom
  • Communicate effectively with staff and students
  • Hold a current Paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

Teacher Assistant (Hospitality Department)

We are seeking an energetic and hands-on Teacher Assistant for our busy Hospitality department to commence Term 4, 2022. The successful candidate will be highly organised, professional, have an ability to collaborate and communicate well with staff and students, under the direction of the Head of Hospitality.

This is a permanent part-time, term-time position – 12 hours per week – Monday (9:30 am – 1:30 pm); Tuesday (11:00 am -3:30 pm) and Wednesday (9:30 am – 1:00 pm).

The successful applicant will be self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously, as part of a team and have a personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.

The role includes (but is not limited to):

  • Proactively work alongside Hospitality staff
  • Monitor safety and assist students in their practical lessons
  • Assist in preparing for lessons and functions
  • Receive deliveries, package and sell food
  • Maintain service uniforms and linens
  • Be responsible for assisting students in cleaning the kitchen and equipment during each class.

This position is also responsible for maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the hospitality trade kitchen, training bar and training shop within the department.

Junior School Receptionist

We are seeking a Junior School Receptionist who is outgoing, friendly, highly professional and caring. Highly organised, and with excellent spoken and written communication skills.

The role of the Junior School Receptionist is to support the Head of Junior School in fulfilling the Mission of the College. This position has a significant focus on general office administration as well as other additional areas of responsibility which contribute to the running of the Junior School.

The receptionist must proactively contribute to the smooth running of the Reception through good time management, organisational skills and an ability to build positive relationships.

This is a permanent part-time, term-time position 35 hours per week (8.00am – 3.30pm) commencing Monday 16 January 2023.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team and have a personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.

The role includes (but is not limited to):

  • Being responsible for ensuring the school office is both welcoming, clean, tidy, safe and an orderly environment
  • Managing the front office in a professional and efficient manner, documenting student absences, maintain Flexischools for all Flexischools payments eg school excursions, booklists etc.
  • Oversee and organise student of the month lunches (compiling names, preparing awards and ordering of food)

Bus Drivers

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for bus drivers (a number of positions exist).  These are casual, term time, part time positions requiring availability to undertake morning and afternoon bus runs as well as opportunities for additional excursions and charters.

The successful applicant must hold:

  • a current MR Class Drivers Licence
  • a current “Queensland Drivers Authority”
  • a current “Queensland Working with Children Blue Card”
  • comply with government directives and all workplace requirements
