Our Employment Environment Agreement

Our employment agreement with staff has six major priorities that are considered essential to the maintenance and preservation of the unique qualities, style and values of the College. These are:

In line with the current Government vaccination mandate, all staff working at NCC must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.  Evidence will be requested and can be shown as either, a COVID-19 digital certificate, or an immunisation history statement, or an international COVID-19 vaccination certificate for overseas travel.

Teaching Positions - Term 1 2022

The College is seeking to fill the following part-time contract positions for Term 1, 2022.

The successful applicants will:

  • Have demonstrated capacity in teaching the specific subject with a high degree of teaching competence in the secondary school
  • Hold a current Queensland Teacher Registration
  • Have a strong commitment to Christian education and a thorough knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy.

Teacher Assistant - Industrial Technology and Design (INTAD)

We are seeking applications for a Teacher Assistant to provide assistance within the Industrial Technology and Design (INTAD) department in the Secondary School in 2022.  This is a term time, part time position. The hours may vary each year due to students numbers.

The successful applicant will:

  • Prepare and organise expendables and consumables for the running of INTAD subjects.
  • Assist in maintaining and the upkeep of various resources used in INTAD to maintain high WH&S standards.
  • Construct/build light infrastructure used within workshops, shed and design suites (racking, tools boards etc.) as directed by Head of Department (HOD) .
  • Assist in the maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) to WH&S regulations within the WH&S Act 2011.
  • Support students in classes as directed by the HOD.
  • Be involved in tool-box talks as required.

Applicants must hold a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

Swim Instructors - (Infant, Toddler and General Swim Instructors) and (Squad Trainers)

NCC early swimmers are seeking applications for the following positions:

Infant, Toddler and General Swim Instructors

(Casual shifts, primarily between 9.30am – 12noon and after school hours)

and

Squad Trainers 

(Casual shifts – 6am to 8am and after school hours)

NCC early swimmers is a dynamic, fun and option filled program running from Nambour Christian College’s Learn to swim facility. We offer Learn to swim lessons for all ages for both the community as well as our private school based programs. NCC early swimmers is looking for a staff member who is motivated, flexible, energetic and goal orientated to join our growing team.

Based in our purpose built facility in Woombye, our pool is well-equipped and heated year round. We plan to grow and develop a progressive learn-to-swim program for all ages in a fun, structured environment with a focus on water safety.

These roles will operate independently with the requirement to develop lesson plans, deliver lessons and set-up and pack-down all equipment to ensuring the pool remains safe before, during and after classes.

Skills and Experience
To be suitable for these positions, you must have a passion for swim teaching, be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be patient, have a natural focus on details and be reliable. You will be able to instil confidence in participants and be prepared to do more than just instruct, with your passion for swim teaching you will be excited to assist in growing the service.

The successful applicant will be able to work flexible hours, commit to set class times and have the following qualifications:

  • Relevant Swim Australia Teacher of Babies and Toddlers qualification
  • Relevant Swim  Australia Teacher qualification
  • Relevant Swim Australia – Teacher of competitive swimming qualification for the Squad Trainer position
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualification
  • Previous experience in infant, toddler and general learn to swim teaching is essential

Bus Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly organised individual to manage our fleet of 20 buses that safely collect and return students at predetermined locations during the term.  Previous experience in this sector would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff and students
  • High competence in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to problem solve and understand the resulting consequence of decision making
  • Ability to research and implement an appropriate software program for timetabling and scheduling
  • A high regard for workplace health and safety
  • A current Blue Card (working with children check)

School Café Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and suitably qualified Kitchen Assistant to join our NCC Catering team on a part-time basis, commencing January 2022.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing food for the tuckshops/café and catering
  • Coffee making
  • Serving customers
  • Stocking fridges and food displays
  • Cleaning
  • Receiving, and storing deliveries
  • To provide a friendly and cheerful environment for students and staff
  • To develop and manage relationships with customers and suppliers
  • To ensure that the working environment is kept clean and free of hazards
  • To be acquainted with current regulations relating to Health and Safety at work, food handling and hygiene regulations, fire-fighting equipment and precautions.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a current/valid Working with Children Blue Card
  • Have a full vaccination certificate for COVID-19
  • Be flexible and able to work 2 to 3 days per week at 7.6hrs per day
  • Be able to demonstrate commitment to the ethos of the College, including acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
