Preparing students for a successful future starts at a young age. A strong curriculum combined with a stimulating learning environment has seen Nambour Christian College consistently achieve outstanding academic results.
At NCC, students develop practical skills across eight key learning areas, partake in a range of sporting, outdoor education and arts activities, and learn to live according to Christian values. While these values remain consistent with the teachings of Christ, our dynamic curriculum is always evolving to ensure students receive an education that is in sync with a fast-changing world.
We encourage students to achieve their personal best in all areas of their education and work with parents to ensure each child receives the support they need. To encourage the personal development of students, the curriculum focuses on individual work as well as teamwork.
KEY LEARNING AREAS AT NCC
The following eight key learning areas are the foundation of an NCC education. Each learning area is delivered through a variety of subjects in Junior, Middle and Senior School.
- Language other than English (LOTE)
- Studies of society and environment (SOSE)
- Arts and musical appreciation
- Health and physical education
Incorporating Prep, our Junior School sets the foundation for future learning. Key learning areas are delivered through hands-on, practical activities and complemented through inter-school sport, excursions, camps, computing and music.
The first Middle School on the Sunshine Coast, our program responds to the unique learning needs of students in Years 7, 8 and 9. The innovative curriculum has a practical, activity-based focus designed to challenge and engage young adolescents.
The curriculum for Years 10, 11 and 12 equips students with the skills they need for life beyond school. Vocational learning and head start university courses are options within the curriculum, and students can choose from a wide range of ATAR subjects.
Learning never stops with our range of co-curricular opportunities
Nambour Christian College students enjoy a rich and rewarding school life both in and out of the classroom. Activities across music, arts and sports complement the academic curriculum and introduce students to a diverse range of additional learning opportunities.
At NCC we believe in the potential of every child, which is why we invest heavily in the development of an enriching co-curricular program. Delivered in outstanding purpose-built facilities by specialist teachers, this program encourages creativity, critical thinking and self-confidence.
