Pastoral Care

Christian education embodies much more than academic and sporting excellence. Whether in the Junior or Secondary School, Pastoral Care is an integral part of the school program, having as its goal the spiritual, emotional, social and physical wellbeing of students.
Effective Pastoral Care requires much more than simply having a Chaplain on staff. At NCC the practical and impartial support of our entire student body necessitates the willing participation of every staff member as they prayerfully model and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ on a daily basis.
In Junior School, class teachers play a vital role in the day to day Pastoral Care of students. In the Middle and Senior Schools, Family Group teachers have daily contact with students – caring, sharing devotions and praying.
The College Year Level networks are the next level of Pastoral Care providing a specialist coordinator overseeing the wellbeing of each age group of students.
In addition, Life Lessons and Applied Christian Studies classes, chapel services and outreach activities further shape Godly living, discipleship and community service.
For students who find they are struggling with life issues, our staff provide help, empathy, guidance and support. In co-operation with parents and guardians, students are afforded every assistance with referral to specialised counselling support when needed.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact us at any time and should never allow themselves to feel disengaged from this crucial network of support. All staff members are available to our College families and are happy to listen and help in any way they can to ensure that students achieve their full potential as they study at NCC.
