Primary School Curriculum
Building the Foundation
The Primary School campus caters for the separate Early Year classes (Pre-Prep and Prep) as well as the Junior Primary (Year 1 to Year 3) and Senior Primary (Year 4 to Year 6) classes. The buildings incorporate a combination of open area learning and single classrooms.
Some of the features of the Primary School include:
- dedicated computer room
- music room
- visual arts room
- several outdoor adventure playgrounds
- excellent undercover areas
- large Primary School oval
- all surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens
The Primary School curriculum follows the syllabus documents provided by the Queensland Studies Authority.
The seven key learning areas are:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE)
- Technology
- The Arts
- Health and Physical Education
While these key learning areas form the basis of our Primary curriculum, at NCC we underpin all teaching with a Christian world view.
Interschool sport, excursions, camps, computing and an intensive music program are some of the additional components that provide a well-rounded Primary Curriculum.
