Parents and Friends Association
Aims and Objectives
The aims and objectives of the NCC Parents & Friends can be summarised as follows:
- to promote the interests of the College and the welfare of the students by various fundraising activities
- to create a close and harmonious relationship between teaching staff and parents of students
- to promote the principles of Christian education
- to represent the viewpoint of parents and friends with respect to the College’s aims and objectives
- to provide a channel of information about educational trends and developments
- to operate under the College’s Constitution and Deed of Trust
As parents of students at Nambour Christian College, you are automatically members of the NCC Parents & Friends Association.
P&F Activities
Primary & Secondary Tuckshops - the P&F Tuckshop Committee is responsible for running both the Primary & Secondary Tuckshops. The Tuckshops provide a wonderful opportunity for parents to get involved, form friendships and support the P&F. The Tuckshops are committed to supplying healthy and nutritious food for our students at very competitive prices.
The Tuckshop Committee also caters for a number of College events including Sports Carnivals, Parent/Teacher Interview nights, Grandparents Day, New Parent Orientation night, etc. School bookpacks are also coordinated through the Tuckshops providing an efficient and economical service.

Secondary School Tuckshop Menu
Carnival Under the Stars - is the main College community event of the year and is the responsibility of the P&F Carnival Committee to coordinate. Held on the last Saturday of August, there is both the opportunity and expectation for every parent to be involved, assisting with the variety of stalls and activities that make the Carnival such a special event.
Family Fun Day – a wonderful family day with lots of activities, great food and heaps of prizes to be won
‘Entertainer’ Booklet – includes discounted items for every situation; save money while helping the P&F
Shop ‘til you Drop – a great day as the ladies head to Brisbane for that once a year shopping spree
Koorong Book Week – we bring the Koorong range to you in the convenience of the College Library
College Communicator – a very popular publication, containing the name, address & phone number of each of our College families, provided free by the P&F

P&F Meetings
The NCC Parents & Friends meet twice per Term in the College Library, with meetings starting at 7.00pm. There are typically three parts to the meeting:
- Informative reports from each of the Heads of School and Head of College followed by a time for questions
- Discussion of issues relevant to the P&F including funding requests and upcoming activities
- Presentation of a topic of interest to parents on an aspect of the College, typically by a Head of School or College Department

What the P&F have Funded
The NCC P&F contributes almost $100,000 per year to improve facilities and support the activities of our students. Examples of projects funded in recent years include:
- Playground equipment and shade sails in the Primary School
- Instruments for the Year 5 Instrumental Music Program
- Shade sails over the College amphitheatre
- Sporting Grants for students representing at regional, state & national competitions
- Bitumen sealing of College car parks and access roads
- Nets and mats for practice cricket wickets
- Contributions to Fiji and Thailand mission trips
- Equipment for Industrial Technology, Agricultural Science, Sports, Humanities, Science, Home Economics and Library programs
- Support of the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) College Musicals and Arts Festivals
- Equipment for the Primary School chess program and gifted & talented program
- Books for the Primary School home reader program
- Equipment for Learning Support and the Gross Motors Skills program
- Water coolers for student playgrounds
- Air conditioning for computer rooms
- Canoes for Outdoor Education program
- Interactive Whiteboards in the Primary School classrooms
- Weights equipment for the Sports Department
